陈多福研究员，男，博士，1962年8月生于江苏吴县。现任中科院广州地球化学研究所研究员、中科院广州天然气水合物研究中心首席研究员。是沉积学专业委员会、矿床地球化学业委员会委员。是《沉积学报》、《矿物岩石地球化学通报》和《天然气地球科学》编委。1983年毕业于兰州大学地质专业。1983年8月-1990年4月贵阳地球化学研究所工作。1990年5月以来在广州地球化学研究所工作。曾在澳大利亚悉尼科技大学、美国康纳尔大学、德国不来梅大学海洋中心访问合作研究，目前国际合作研究良好。工作以来主要从事沉积学与地球化学的研究工作。早期主要开展沉积地层中的热水流体沉积、成矿作用及华南震旦纪沉积地球化学的研究。1998年以来主要从事海底冷泉流体沉积（天然气水合物和冷泉碳酸盐岩）研究。2002年通过载人深潜器对美国墨西哥海底天然气水合物和冷泉碳酸盐岩进行了实地考察。
